We've been having some issues on the server recently, it's running slower and having too many failures. For that reason we are currently looking at new server hosting options in preparation to move this site (and our others).
In other news, it may seem as though we've not been doing much on Tapewise (which is half true!) but we will have some exciting news in the very close future. On top of that we will be announcing a new product! |

Well they say no news is good news! Not on a website IMO (in my opinion) so I thought I'd just post a quick update as to what is going on. We have made several minor bug fixes thanks to the input from our current users and also those currently testing Tapewise. This are mostly minor detailing problems on the new HTML formatted results, however we are always keen to hear about new ideas of problems with Tapewise.
On another note please make sure you are running the latest version of Tapewise, before submitting any support requests, as it is possible your issue has already been fixed or hardware is supported in the latest release. We have now added support for the latest IBM 3592 E05 (TS1220) drive. This is capable of writing in the older J1A mode or the new E05 mode, and as usual in Tapewise you can select what mode to write in, and secondly the scaling to use (full tape 300/500GB Native or 35% 60/100GB Uncompressed). This will be in the next release due soon after we make a few minor changes/improvements to the SPTI core again. |

Data Product Services Ltd. are pleased to announce the latest release of the Tapewise software. This is a recommended upgrade which is full of improvements, new hardware support and a couple of minor bug fixes, full list is available in the "Read more..." option below.
Our biggest new feature is the switch from static text to HTML reports at the end of a task, these include a mini TEM graph which is click-able to see a full size one. This is an option which needs to be changed in the setup screen so that the results are shown as HTML instead of plain text!

Although we have already had beta support for this drive, we now have full support in the next release of Tapewise of this drive. We have managed on our small test systems to hit speeds of 115mb/s, so we may need to do some tweaking :)

We have made a minor update to the website, upgrading the back end from 1.0.8 to 1.0.9, we are sorry for the minor downtime, but this should help site speed. If you notice anything wrong, please contact me via the contact page. Thank you. |

Yes we at Tapewise are proud to be English, so "Come on England!", but I just hope it all goes great, so good luck to all the teams competing.
In other news, we have made a major change to the way Tapewise handles libraries. With the current implementation, users of Bronze can only use libraries with a maximum of 19 slots, and users of Silver can only use libraries up to 99 slots. HOWEVER from the next release, users of the Bronze and Silver level, will be able to connect to ANY library, BUT will be limited to accessing the first 19 slots for Bronze, and 99 slots for Silver. |
